About this site

How this site is put together, and the rules it holds itself to.

What this site is

An independent reference on sulforaphane: what it is, where it comes from, how much of it a given food or supplement actually delivers, and what the research does and does not show. Nothing is sold here and there are no affiliate links.

How sources are handled

Every factual claim on this site names its source. Health claims cite primary literature, identified by its PubMed or PMC identifier, and those identifiers are checked automatically to confirm they still resolve.

Pages state what kind of study a finding comes from. There is a large difference between a result in cultured cells, a result in mice, and a result in people, and this subject suffers badly from the three being reported as though they were the same. Where the honest answer is that no adequate human trial exists, the page says so rather than filling the gap with laboratory work.

Measured amounts carry their assay method. Published sulforaphane figures vary by more than an order of magnitude depending on how the measurement was made, so a number without a method attached is not usable, and this site does not print one.

What this site does not do

  • It does not give medical advice, or tell anyone what to take.
  • It does not sell anything, and carries no affiliate links.
  • It does not claim credentials that nobody here holds.
  • It does not present laboratory findings as though they were clinical results.

If something here is wrong, it should be fixed. Corrections are made on the page itself and the modified date is updated, rather than quietly edited.
